Without question, island of Koh Pha-ngan was at the beginning discovered by backpacking hippies a mere twentytwo years ago, the island was already inhabited for more than two thousand years ago by sea pirates traveling by boat from the area today called malaysia. The island was later settled by Chinese most of them originating from Hainan . You can use the roads to HaadRin, but you have been warned that the concrete roads are not in the best condition and only if you are a good motorbike rider then don't try to get to HaadRin, as most accidents involving motorcycles happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your scooter at the seven eleven at Ban Tai and pay about 50 Baht for a taxi over the mountains to HadRin. Once the fullmoon party beach. Most of the area around Haad Rin is mountains making most of the fantastic fine white beaches unable to reach by road, the only way to get to them is by long tail boat from Had Rin.
